Shenzhen Terrace: The first Government funded public construction facility named after the city

Located in Longgang District, "Shenzhen Terrace", will be the first government funded public construction facility named after the city, and is designed to seamlessly integrate the landscape, leisure, commerce, culture, art, and design.

The project is designed by MVRDV, one of the most influential architectural firms in the Netherlands; famous for their work on the Markthal Market Square in Rotterdam, known as the most beautiful market in the world, and the Hanging Gardens of Seoul, which perfectly integrate the botanical garden with highways, culture, and commerce.

Inspired by terraced fields, MVRDV will use "stacking" as the core design concept of the project.

New business, innovative culture, humanities and arts

The entirety of the "Shenzhen Terrace" will be divided into three areas, the west area, the east area, and the commercial area.

West End

The West District aims to "incorporate the city and nature", highlighting leisure and ecology. The installed facilities include cultural activity centers, theaters, libraries, etc., among which a book complex of 10,000 square meters. The Star Theater is particularly eye-catching.

East District

The Eastern District highlights landmarks. The new exhibition space, Happy Dream Theater, landmark release hall, and Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Cooperation and Entrepreneurship Center will be located in it, attracting young people and enterprises from Shenzhen and Hong Kong, and creating a knowledge and wisdom hub integrating high-tech industries, talent training and international exchanges.

Commercial sector

The commercial sector incorporates block-style commercial integration and will be open to the world's most advanced business models for operating urban complexes.

"Shenzhen Terrace" and Shimao Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Center

Mutual integration

The operator of this project is Shimao, who brings its own accumulated understanding of unique business culture to Shenzhen. On top of the Shimao Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Center, the "Shenzhen Terrace" will integrate 9 major business formats such as humanities and fashion.

The complex will also include about 3400 high-end residences, with apartment sizes ranging between 41-255 square meters.
